Given to me by my co-workers in celebration of the 1st anniversary. It was painted and designed by my multi-talented, amazing, and kind boss, Lynn Rogan.
congratulations! thx for sharing a year of cakes. are you going to continue as usual?
the card is very beautiful- it reminds me a bit of wayne thiebaud: http://www.nga.gov/education/classroom/counting_on_art/img/img_thiebaud_frostedfractions_lg.jpg
Thanks, and I do plan on continuing Cake Thursday! As for transport, it depends on the cake. I have a large plastic cake carrier (from Bed, Bath, and Beyond) that I use for finished cakes. It fits into a large tote bag, which makes it easier to take on the subway. Otherwise, I wrap the layer(s) in plastic and carry them flat in a sturdy bag.

About Me
Jessica
I love to make things: design and photography, arts and crafts of all kinds, cooking, and baking. Oh, baking.
For reasons I ponder with the depth of a philosopher, my baker-heart seems to favor cake. I am enthralled with the look, taste, process, history, art, and culture of this deeply meaningful treat.
Most of what you see here, and will see in the future, is cake-centric. That said, my heart also beats hard for the camera, and I tend to take pictures of most everything that comes out of my Brooklyn kitchen: a bowl full of fresh, tangy cold ice cream. A broken open, still-warm blueberry muffin. A slice of almost burnt toast topped with a perfectly poached egg…

Thanks, and I do plan on continuing Cake Thursday!
